Cats are one of the most beautiful creatures on God's earth and rightly so! I have kept cats for the past twenty five odd years of my life and in all honesty, I just cannot live without one!

So here you will find pictures and updates about all the cats I have ever owned and my new little girl who will be joining me in my new flat on Friday 21st August 2009.

I have chosen my new little girl and she is now at home with me! Her name is Jasmine, very quickly now referred to as just plain Jaz! She is 3 years and two months old and is Tabby and White Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful little pink nose . Jaz has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). But fear not as humans cannot catch it and neither can other species of animals. Unfortunately, only cats can catch it and pass it on to other cats. It has been proved by veterinary surgeons that although this disease is endemic to cats, it is thought that only 1 - 2% actually catch the disease. This is mainly because of un-neutered toms that pass the disease on to other cats, primarily because of territorial issues andfighting over females when they are in season. Pregnant female cats (Queens) can pass the disease on to their unborn kittens. Because of having FIV, nobody else wanted poor little Jaz but I did! She is very loving and has sussed out the flat already and taken some food. Further updates and pix coming very soon.

At last, the very first pictures of Jaz! She is not as shy now but my old mobile camera does not have a flash on it so I had to use a torch to light the scene. LOL! But I got the second picture whilst she was still in her bed - at 2:15 in the afternoon! The lazy little bugger was still fast asleep on her radiator hammock! Cat's have such a good life. I think she is such a pretty little feline and I am very happy with my new little girl!

Jasmine doing what Jasmine does best - sleeping in her radiator hammock but more usually to be found on my (sorry her) bed!

Now that I have had Jaz for well over a month now, she has made it quiet obvious just who the boss of this household is and it most certainly isn't me anymore! The double bed now belongs to Jaz as does the sofa and don't even think of trying to remove her from either, as you will not succeed? Jamine has settled in really well and is not frightened of anyone or anything, myself included! Catnip has no effect on her as is the case in around 15% of cats but she does get as high as the proverbial  kite when she has had a whiff of her Feliway spray. Not that she has ever needed calming down as I have never known such a laid back and downright bloody lazy cat!

DOLLY COWBAG

The Love Of My Life!

Who ever needed a human to love?

My Little Girl - Dolly Cowbag (2003 - 2008)

It is with the greatest sadness that at 15:30hrs on Christmas Eve 2008, I had to have my little girl put to sleep. Dolly had been gravely ill for about two weeks and her vet informed me that she had a massive tumour on her liver which was unfortunately inoperable. I was with Dolly giving her kisses and cuddles throughout the whole procedure which was painless and peaceful.

My little girl fell asleep in my arms on Christmas Eve 2008.

Dolly would have been only six years old on Good Friday 2009.

I miss her so very, very much and I always will!

Gone But Never Forgotten.
